I was horrified to learn that in the lifetime of an average person we shed around 40 kilos of dead skin and that 90% of our household dust come from dead skin!
They took their clothes off, old and young alike, and started rubbing the fine warm sand all over their bodies before jumping in and out of the lake, splashing about in the river whilst they washed the sand away. This was women of all ages in a remote village recognising the need to exfoliate and wash away their dead skin but having fun with it at the same time. So I started to think about why it was so important to exfoliate your body and how natural and organic products are the best for exfoliating the skin.
My favourite body exfoliator from the Thea Skincare range is the wonderfully smooth Walnut and Chamomile Body Glow Polish which does exactly what it says on the tin - it makes your body glow and polishes the skin just like fine sand did for those women in Malawi.

Exfoliating your body regularly will not only get rid of those thousands of dead skin cells that we all shed each day but it also helps to bring fresh nutrients to the surface of the skin, nourishing and hydrating it. It also makes it much easier for your body crème such as Rooibos Shea Body & Foot Butter (one of my personal favourites) or your body moisturiser such as Thea Skincare Super Nourish Deluxe Vitamin Rich Body Crème to penetrate, feed and hydrate the skin for ultimate long lasting smoothness and Natural Beauty.
